Rest Is Not Quitting

“Because we do not rest we lose our way.... Poisoned by the hypnotic belief that good things come only through unceasing determination and tireless effort, we can never truly rest. And for want of rest our lives are in danger.”

Ruth Haley Barton,Invitation to Solitude and Silence: Experiencing God's Transforming Presence

There is a kind of exhaustion that does not show up on the outside. You are still functioning. Still leading. Still showing up for work and family. But internally, something feels off.

You are more reactive than you used to be.
Less joyful than you think you should be.
More anxious during transitions.
More distant from God than you want to admit.

Shame can creep in and say that this is just laziness. But it is actually depletion. And what you need is not another productivity strategy. You need rest.

The Rest Your Body and Soul Are Craving

On our therapist led retreats, we approach restoration through a body, soul, and spirit framework.

When your nervous system has been in survival mode, your body carries it. Tight muscles. Shallow breathing. Irritability. Chronic stress.

When you have been striving to hold everything together, your soul carries it. Overthinking. Identity confusion. Questioning your purpose in this season.

When faith begins to feel like another task, your spirit and soul carries it. Prayer feels dry. Worship feels distant. Guilt replaces connection. Then there is often spiritual burnout layered with emotional exhaustion.

True rest can address all of who we are.

A Christian Women’s Retreat for Burnout Recovery and Prevention

This retreat is designed for women ages 25 to 65 who are carrying emotional labor, navigating life transitions, or leading at high capacity.

You may be a ministry leader, a professional, a mother, or all three.

You are competent and relied upon. Yet quietly depleted.

Our Christian based women’s retreat blends clinical mental health expertise with spiritual renewal. As licensed therapists, we create a psychologically safe space where real change can happen.

This is not a typical church retreat or a spa weekend. It is a women’s mental health retreat grounded in faith.

What Changes When You Truly Rest

Women have arrived to our retreats feeling numb or dead inside and leave refreshed to life. Others come during a season of “in between”, a mom who no longer has kids in the home or a single person moving to a new state hoping the opportunity includes thriving, and they find peace with whats to come. A working professional providing and maintaining with little support leaves knowing she isn’t alone.

Here is what shifts to bring transformation:

· Decreased stress and improved nervous system regulation

· Increased coping skills and emotional stability

· Ability to sit in the presence of God without striving

· Greater clarity in identity and purpose

· Confidence in setting healthy boundaries without breaking connection

· Freedom from false narratives that no longer serve them

Instead of forcing outcomes, you learn to discern.
Instead of performing spiritually, you reconnect relationally.

This is body-soul-spirit healing.

More Than Inspiration. Real Integration.

This Women’s Wellness Retreat - “Rest, Reset, Reengage” combines:

· Solitude, reflection, and play

· Adventure based experiential therapy

· Nervous system regulation skills

· Group processing in a safe clinical container

· Unique ways of connecting with God without pressure

We take the most transformative elements of therapy, spiritual direction, and retreat settings and integrate them intentionally.

This is about allowing the experience to nurture your whole being, its not striving.

If You Are Tired of Carrying It All

If you are emotionally reactive and do not know why.
If you feel distant from God but guilty about it.
If you are in transition and questioning who you are becoming.
If you are exhausted from constant demands.

This faith based therapist led retreat may be your invitation to reset.

Rest is not quitting.
It is returning to who you are and to the God who is not asking you to come as you are.

Rest. Reset. Reengage.

April 23rd - 26th in Oak Island, NC there is an opportunity for you to experience this with a small group of women on this coastal women’s retreat. Interested?
